CHAIRMAN'S BLOG 11th September 2025
It has been a very busy summer season for our volunteers with lots of visitors coming in to see our Collection as well as visiting the Tourist Information Centre and shop. Holidaymakers have been blessed with really good weather for being on the beach, which swelled our numbers on our six seashore safaris. It has just started to slow down now that the schools have re-opened, but there are still lots of walkers and our usual September visitors around.
It has been an exciting couple of months for the museum with the new website up and running - we have had lots of compliments, and our thanks go to our website designer for all his hard work.
And we have also had a couple of additions to our Collections - see the pictures on the site. One is the beautiful Millenium edition Combe Martin Tea Set, generously loaned to us by Nicky Tossell and her sister Beverly in memory of their parents.
We have also been given a very large collection of old photographs of Combe Martin, many of which we don't recognise! So we held an open day to display some of them and asked local people to come in and help us identify people and places. We shall be repeating this later in the year as lots of villagers were away on holiday and unable to come in and have a look.
Lots of interesting events are being planned for the coming months, so do take a look at the events pages on here.
Thank you for your support in the summer weeks and we look forward to seeing you over the autumn and winter months at one or more of our events.
